KIM CHURCHILL with Special Guest - Saturday April 11, 2026 - 8:00 pm - THE LOFT from CA$28.00 Presented by Black Fly Jam and The Algoma Conservatory of Music KIM CHURCHILL with Special Guest Saturday, April 11th, 2026 - THE LOFT Performance time: 8 pm - Doors open: 7 pm - cash bar Adults: $40, 30 Years and Under: $28, Subscriber to 5 or more concerts: $33 All Fees included - Add to the cart below and then click on the shopping cart icon to check out. For the past 15 years, Kim Churchill has played to the world, splitting time on different continents in three camper vans, and performed over two thousand shows! He is known internationally as a well-loved festival act, far beyond his home turf of Australia, and sought out as a headline act for notable festivals planet-wide. Glastonbury, Montreal Jazz Festival, Telluride Bluesfest have all raved about his optimism and energy in performance. Kim cites his long time friendship and tour collaborations with Billy Bragg as teaching him a lot about longevity as a performer, and how to hone his style and craft. During his first tour with Bragg, Kim wrote a song called “Window To The Sky” and that song, plus the album it was featured on “Silence/Win” has led to major record deals with Warner, Atlantic Records(UK) and Universal (Europe) recording companies. That song alone went on to enjoy over 60 million streams in Germany, and Gold status on this continent. He accompanies his guitar with blues harp (harmonica), stomp box, drums, and percussion instruments. He also plays lapsteel and tambourine. An avid fan of surfing, he incorporated the sport in many of his songs and music videos. He has a particular following in Canada where he took part in Canadian Music Week, the Ottawa Folk Festival and the famous Montreal International Jazz Festival. He enjoys a good following in the United States where he performed at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas and the International Folk Federation Conference in Memphis, plus tours in England, other European venues, and in Japan. From Kim himself "My music is high energy farmer’s market blues folk. I came up with that title from busking at farmer’s markets. To me, playing for spare change and the like is what the blues is kind of all about. Being able to play for people and put some joy into their day is so satisfying. It allows you to operate on a very minimalist level, and that makes it very honest and uncorrupted. The realness is what I really connected with playing in those settings. As much is it is fun playing to bigger audiences and putting on a big show, the intimacy of smaller audiences is so rewarding.” BLACK FLY JAM is very pleased to acknowledge The City of Sault Ste. Marie, Arts and Culture Assistance Program for grant support for our 2025-2026 season. Location: 75 Huron St
